Sweet Nothing Clothes

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Sweet Nothing Clothes is a boutique clothing brand designed by my wife, Jess Hahn-Demaria (you can visit her website here). The website is an e-commerce set up to sell her various screen-printed and one of a kind clothing designs.

And it was a real collaboration; we are both designers but Jess had no interest in doing any web-development type stuff, which posed some challenges from a coding perspective. We started out with her psd’s  and then talked about how she wanted the site to function. The budget for this project was tight, so we went with some of the gazillians of open source resources available for developing on a budget.

The results are a professional looking site, with some real personal touches and an intuitive interface..

Astrocakes

Wednesday, August 5th, 2009

astrocakesAstrocakes is a website for a Kansas City creator of Gluten-Free snacks.. The author hasn’t been updating the thing (note to self ,call Andee at Astrocakes) but it is indeed live. This website is based on a wordpress installation and is basically a custom theme. The navigation is my favourite element of the website, and it takes a little tweeking of both the CSS and PHP to make this kind of thing happen, the classes are dynamic and the pages listed needed to be decided on in advance. In terms of enhancing this site further I would probable implement more dynamic sub-page navigation and add some subtle embellishments to the posts and to the different pages in the site.
